5/13/2010 6:30 to 9:30 PM 2.0 AIA LU/ HSW/ SD The genesis + design of a LEED Certified Building Projeact: Mini-presentations, followed by Round Table Discussion, with Break-out Groups Round table will include Julia nelson, BKSK Architects (Queens Botanical Garden); Ari Muesel; Blaze Makoid & Laura Coletti, Notaro-Grupp Architects; with Doug Casper moderating. This program will attempt to unearth the actual design, research, filing and construction administration process, including various issues, time constraints, difficulties, etc. This will be a "hands-on", "pull out the stops" session and will break up into special interest group covering various building types: commercial, residential, institutional & public works.

6:00pm   Best Practices in Accessible Design & Construction The presentation will highlight common oversights architects make when incorporating accessibility into multi-family plan development, followed by typical errors made in the field during construction. It will offer practical examples of simple solutions which, when incorporated into plan development and construction, will help produce projects which are truly accessible.
