This moderated discussion explores the founding and development of the AIA Long Island Women in Architecture Committee and the creation of Built From Within, a collaborative book featuring the experiences of women working within architecture and related professions. Through personal narratives and organizational history, the speakers will examine the barriers women encounter in architectural practice, the importance of representation and mentorship, and the ways professional organizations can create opportunities for leadership, connection, and advancement.
Participants will leave with practical ideas for building more inclusive professional communities and supporting emerging leaders within their firms and local AIA chapters.
